HindiUSA Saint Louis Successfully Hosts 7th Annual Poetry Competition

Saint Louis, January 19, 2025:
HindiUSA Saint Louis proudly hosted its 7th Annual Hindi Poetry Competition at the Mahatma Gandhi Center. This event, themed around India’s Republic Day, showcased the incredible enthusiasm and talent of the students. Many participants dressed as Indian freedom fighters, recited patriotic poems, and held the Tiranga (Indian flag) during their performances.

The event was organized under the leadership of Mayank Jain, Anshu Jain, and Meghna Lunkad, who have been instrumental in HindiUSA’s growth in the Midwest region. According to Mayank Jain, “This is the 7th consecutive year HindiUSA Saint Louis has conducted the Hindi Kavita Pratiyogita. The school has grown from just 22 students in 2018 to 230 registered students today, making it the largest nonprofit Hindi school in the entire Midwest and one of the largest Hindi competitions in the USA.”

Special thanks were extended to Samir Ji, Dharmesh Ji, and Jayesh Ji for their support. Samir Ji remarked, “Language, attire, and food are integral to any culture. HindiUSA’s efforts in preserving Indian culture are truly commendable.”

The competition included 130 participants across eight levels, with students presenting a diverse range of poems—from light-hearted and humorous pieces to patriotic and motivational works by renowned poets like Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The winners will now advance to the next level of competition across HindiUSA schools.

The event concluded with a Taekwondo demonstration by the Missouri Karate Association, performed to the patriotic beats of Vande Mataram. The combination of cultural celebration and student talent made the competition a resounding success.
