St. Louis Hindi School
As part of HindiUSA Saint Louis, we have accomplished an extraordinary amount during the 2023–24 academic year. Over the past year, we organized more than 20 events—including festival celebrations, educational programs, cultural activities, and Hindi‑promotional initiatives. Our school also received multiple recognitions, reflecting the dedication of our entire community.
It fills me with immense pride to see our once little‑known Hindi language school grow into the largest nonprofit Hindi school in the entire Midwest. One of our most memorable moments was being honored at a Major League Soccer game at CITY SC Stadium, in front of 22,500 people. Twenty‑two of our HindiUSA students had the privilege of walking onto the field as player pals alongside international soccer players.
Our efforts to promote Hindi also inspired new non‑teaching volunteers to join us—individuals who are now actively advocating for the inclusion of Hindi in the Parkway and Rockwood school districts.
This year, nearly 96% of our students passed their exams. Our dedicated teachers went above and beyond by conducting a second exam for students who were unable to attend or did not pass on their first attempt, ensuring every child had a fair opportunity to succeed.
We also celebrated several notable achievements: completing our first-ever snack distribution program, sending 28 students to an international school poetry competition, and proudly watching 10 of our students earn trophies and medals for top placements.
None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the unwavering support of our teachers, volunteers, parents, and—most importantly—the hard work of our students.
This year’s magazine will feature fewer articles and more photographs, along with information about the Tamil School. While we take great pride in advocating for Hindi, we are equally delighted to support and encourage other Indian regional languages. We share similar challenges and joys in offering our language programs, and we hope you enjoy learning about the Tamil language school.
We are also bidding farewell to two dedicated teachers and one volunteer coordinator. Life gets busy, and finding time can be difficult, but I encourage each of you to continue prioritizing Hindi. Support your children at home, and consider teaching at least once or twice during the school year so our regular teachers can take a well‑deserved break.
