How to read hindi PDF Print E-mail
Reading in Hindi on the Internet is even simpler than writing it. Actually Hindi language, if written using UNICODE, is understood by your browser (Internet Explorer, Netscpae, Opera etc.)
If you have Windows XP or Windows 2000

ONLY when following setting is in place:
Go to "View" menu of your IE window > Encoding >
Select "Unicode (UTF-8)"
[sometime this setting is found under Encoding > More ] Thats it !!!

Once you have done this, you should be able to read in Hindi font on the webpage [of course the pre-requisite is that there should be some text in Hindi to be read :) ]

If you have Windows 98

You'll have to install Unicode Fonts on your computer.

Method 1:

  1. Click on this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/hindi/fontinstall/bbchindi.exe
  2. Click on "Run the program from its current location"? or "Open".
  3. Click on "I Agree".
  4. Restart your computer after the fonts have been installed.

Method 2:

  1. Download these fonts (Raghindi by NCST) and extract in a particular directory on your hard disk. Say, the root directory "c:\raghu".
  2. Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel .
  3. In Control Panel, open "Fonts" .
  4. Select the file raghu.ttf from where you extracted the zip file and drag and drop it into the Control Panel Fonts window.
